Mu / La Station
Created in 2002, the Collectif MU is an artistic production office specializing in the fields of music, sound art, and new media. The MU Collective designs and produces artistic interventions defined by their relationship to the territory and the context in which they emerge, and conducts research at the frontiers of art, technology and science. Every year, MU welcomes artists in residence at La Goutte d'Or (Garage MU) and at Porte d'Aubervilliers, and develops collective projects that promote the sharing of knowledge and tools.
In spring 2016, MU opened the doors of La Station - Gare des Mines. At the crossroads of Paris, Saint-Denis and Aubervilliers, La Station - Gare des Mines is a third place dedicated to emerging music scenes and Do It Yourself cultures located at the crossroads of Paris, Saint-Denis and Aubervilliers. Known since 2016 for its musical programming, the Station is also an artistic laboratory (residencies, workshops...) offering a demanding cultural program in relation with its territory.
In the spring of 2020, the Station - Gare des Mines will be equipped with a second building and a 5,000 m² outdoor space, which will be an opportunity to diversify its activities and its reception methods. The Station aims to become an "urban commons", encouraging appropriation by many users: artists, musicians, makers, residents, neighbors. In 2021, La Station opens the "Air de Repos". L'Air de Repos provide a daytime reception combining psychological and social support, therapeutic activities, and artistic workshops.
