Since establishing in 2013, Debaser has become one of Ottawa’s leading independent and underground music presenters, best known for its experimental music curation and inclusive events. Its primary activity is programming, producing and promoting music and arts events, but it has also released compilation albums, produced multidisciplinary projects, hosted discussions, created web art, made radio and published zines. Debaser is an incorporated nonprofit organization whose mandate is to support and exhibit underrepresented creative artists. In 2021, Debaser launched Pique, a new forward-thinking, artist-driven quarterly event series featuring eclectic musical, visual and multimedia artists, the next edition of which takes place December 4, 2021.
